Compositing (rojak.atmosphere.compositing)

Composite a field onto a common km-scale grid centred on a set of centres.

There are two ways to specify the centres:

• composite_about_extrema(): The centres are the extrema of a field, as identified by rojak.atmosphere.regions.identify_and_stack_circular_extrema().

• composite_about_points(): The centres are arbitrary points stored in a dask.dataframe.DataFrame, with the nearest time step and vertical level selected for each centre. This scales to a large number of centres as the centres are grouped by the chunk of the field they require (along either the time or vertical dimension). To composite several fields on the same grid about the same centres, use CompositeAboutPoints to only locate and group the centres once.

The re-projection of a single field about a single centre is implemented in rojak.atmosphere._compositing_kernels.

Classes

CompositeAboutPoints(grid, centre_dim_name, ...)	Composite fields on a common grid about the centres stored in a dask.dataframe.DataFrame.
CompositeInterpolation(*values)	Interpolation used by CompositeAboutPoints to map data onto the km grid.
