Funding bodies are looking increasingly favourably upon (and often expecting) the inclusion of Research Software Engineers in project proposals that depend to any extent on research software. For example, EPSRC strongly encourage the full costing of activities to “Engage expert staff, such as […] research software engineers”.
In addition to the inclusion of RSE expertise in general funding applications, the list below identifies specific opportunities for support of “standalone” software engineering activities.
